Hi people

hi people I have to make a list. The top 10 foods on a boat. In the pacific ocean here are the foods. First food is fish, coconuts because there are pretty healthy for you. Here are the rest off the foods; chicken because they give you engry. Apples and bananas. juice; fries yummy. chocolate my favourite and sushi one more which is noodles. That is my list of foods that I will take on a boat.

Last Day of Futsal

Last day of futsal

Last Wednesday was the last day of futsal and on the last day of futsal we did some relays. The relays were tunnels under over, and lots more. There was one when you had to hold the ball and run to the object, when you reach the object then you turn around, then kick the ball to you teammate and then you repeat it. The tunnels game, what you had to do is, first everyone had open their legs,  then the one in the front has to throws the ball through there legs and the last person had to get the ball, then run with the ball to the front and carry on. The under over game in that game you have to hold the ball and then behind and you have to give it over or else you have to restart. There is one last game which is called Tic tac toe I bet you all ready know how to play this kind of game well, this is different kind of Tic tac toe. In this version you have to get a kind of a shirt it very fun but anyways bye.

Bigfoot Bike Skills

Bigfoot Bike Skill

Bigfoot bike skills is when two adventurers come and tell you about bike safety. They tell you if the bike is good for you and your helmet. There are 4 things you need to check before you ride your bike which are your wheels, the brakes, quick release leavers. When you have checked all 4 things then you check your helmet. There are 3 steps and the 3 steps are that you check that your forehead has two finger space so your helmet so it doesn't come down. M

ake sure that you have a 2 ys on the sides. The last thing then you can ride your bike I promise you, wait I should tell you the last thing which is your chin check that the strap is one finger space so it is not to tight. Bye now you know the rules you can ride your bike.

Athletics day

Athletics day

On the 19th off November Waikowhai Primary school did Athletics. There were 9 stations in Athletics. They were high jump, long jump, 400m sprints and 200m sprints, sprints, tennis, team building, shock-ball and stop-time obstacles. It was when fun doing all that stuff. In sprints I came second and third it hard to get second ans third but was fun too. I don't think you have heard shock-ball, it is a game when you have to hold a heavy ball but without your fingers but with your palm it's fun you can try it at home. I want to do it AGAIN! it was that fun but anyways bye.

 

High Jump

High Jump

This week Te Waka Ako did high jump. I liked it because you had to jump over a bar. First you could jump over when it was low, then it starts to get higher and higher. It was challenging because you couldn't dive or back dive and you can only scissors with your legs. scissors it. If you drive or if you back diving you will get the Eliminated so you don't do that.

Futsal

Futsal

This term on Wednesday we go and play Futsal. In futsal you play games with a ball it is like football but different. We learnt games like dribbling with the ball and if the coach said " freeze" then you have to put your feet on the ball.  If he says " groups of " something but it has to be under 10 sometimes he says " groups of 18 " oh I almost forgot to tell you the we played games like sharks and fish, numbers and other games.

Kiwi-sports

On Tuesday fifteen kids got chosen to do Kiwi sports. I was of them and some of them were my friends so we were going to Mount Roskill School to do kiwi sports. 
First we started to play Hoopla. So there were two teams and, there were runners and taggers, so once they ran out of runners we would switch teams and each 30 minutes we switch game. The second we played was rob the nest, in rob the nest you have to pick up a small bean bag. You had to run to the middle and get a bean bag and take it back to you nest. After every bean bag is finished you could rob other kids nest, so you could win or lose but it doesn't matter because it's just a game so it doesn't matter if you win or lose. Then we played cricket and T-ball it was so fun oh and we played Tug of War and we were so close to wining but we had a fun time and my favourite game was T-ball. 

Beach Clean

On 27th of September, we went to the beach to pick up rubbish so it doesn't go in to the sea. We had to walk all the way from school to Waikowhai Bay. We had to pick up rubbish, put it in our bag so it doesn't go into the sea. We talked about if the rubbish is sharp then ask the teacher if you should pick it up or not. After that we went into groups of 4 or 5.

Michael went down the right side of the beach and started picking up rubbish. In the first place I found a pice of paper that was stuck on the tree branch, so I started climbing it up to the tree branch which was pretty low but when I got the paper I took it down and put it in rubbish bag. My friend Apollo started to climb a high rock I also climbed the rock. The beach looked awesome once we had finished. I hope people take care of our beach from now on.

My Narrative Writing

In term 3 week 1 Te Waka Ako wrote a narrative about a picture. We thought about the picture and after we had thought about the picture, we wrote what we the think is happening in the picture we started writing. After sometime we had to stop because we had to go to lunch when we came back from lunch we wrote the narrative. When we were halfway through we stopped. Anyway here is the link

Family fun day

                                         Family fun day

In April we had family fun day. You could wear mufti at school ,I was so happy we could wear mufti at school. We did less work then normally we did at school. You could bring your wheels to school so we could have a lot of fun. When it was morning tea I played football with my friends, after sometime I went to ride my bicycle for sometime, after a little bit of time one of my friends went to ring the bell. Then we went out for lunch. When we were out side we went to play on the bouncy castle, we also went swimming. After swimming we went to Molly Green and did fun stuff like play on the playgrounds and art. When we came from Molly Green we got notes because it was the end of the day then we went home.

Cross Country

                        Cross Country

On Wednesday the 11th Waikowhai Primary did cross country, we had 6 stations and 4 letters there are s, k, o and r. The year 5 kids went to the ice-block and a slice of cake. When the year 5 kids were done eating we went to the kicking station. We had to kick 25 footballs into the goals I got 18 goals and some of them with goalkeeper. After we did skipping, I wasn't really good at skipping but I had good time.After we did a obstacle race it 13 obstacles.

We first started with a 2 moon hoppers 1 for the your opponent we had so much and we a little bit of mud on us because the grass had puddles of mud. After the obstacle course ,we did the race we had to around the whole school 2 times. It was a race and I was so tired but it was a whole lot of fun.

 My Mum and Dad Birthday 

At last week's Friday it was my mom's birthday. We gave her a surprise party and she was so happy. We bought a chocolate cake for her and it was yummy also and she liked,and she said thank you. We also called her friend over and we called my mom's best friend who had a baby. The baby was super cute and he was only 1 year old,and he always wanted to play with us,whenever We use to make funny faces he always laughed,and he also made us laugh a lot of times. We had a lot of fun playing with baby and my mom's birthday it was the best birthday ever.

After two or three days it was my dad's birthday so exciting,I had two birthday parties my mum and my dad's after two days I am so glad that they had birthdays like this,my dad's birthday was so good I'm going to tell you about it right now oh I almost forgot to tell you my dad's birthday was on Sunday. At my dad's birthday we called all my friends my Dad's friends at my mum's friends,and the the party was such a big party even Mum's best friend with a baby also came. We were playing the baby and we went outside for dinner all of us together it was so fun and I forgot to tell you he cake was a 2 story cake and it was all chocolates on top. At the restaurant we had some chicken and some spring rolls with noodles inside them. And for dessert we had two scoops of ice cream with sprinkles on them and chocolate sauce with new nutella on the top it was so tasty I wanted another it was tasty. We went home to cut my dad's cake it was tastier than any other cake.This is the best 2 birthday parties ever in my life.

Te waka ako made small paper t-shirt quotes and gave them away other people and told them to give it to other people after you had fun with it and then they did the same thing again to everyone close to there school after they were done they went back to school.                      

Pink Shirt Day

On the 17th of May, Te Waka Ako wrote kind quotes on small paper t-shirts. It was Neeve’s idea to post the cards to the other houses after they were done. The teachers thought it was a very good idea so they did it. They had some parent helpers to help them deliver the cards to the other houses and there were three teachers. They went into 5 groups of 8 so each adult will have 8 kids.

Then they went off to drop the letter to the mailboxes. Two groups went down the back track and three went from the front gate. They went up Hillsborough and down. Some people went far down and some a little bit closer. It was hard exercise, but they had a lot of lovely t-shirts to deliver. When they were done they had to go back to school and it was a long way back. When they were coming back we were so tired. When they reached school they had lunch and it was an amazing day.

Manukau Assembly

      Manukau Assembly

On the 9th of August we had Manukau Assembly. First thing we had to get ready for the assembly. We took about 23 or 24 white chairs from te waka ako from the orange space to sit on, and we also set up the carpet for the kids to set on.When the students and the teachers came we started the assembly. We started with the play, Mayhem on Mars. The play was about martians, martian’s mum and astronauts. This was about how the astronauts landed on Mars and found the martians and the martians told the astronauts to go back to earth. My favorite part about was the play.I thought the assembly went great because everyone liked the assembly.

Gumboot Friday

Gumboot Friday

Last Friday we made cards for people on gumboot Friday. You mite ask what is Gumboot Friday well here you go. Gumboot Friday is a day to raise money for Mental health campaign by Mike King. We worked hard to make cards and on the cards we wrote quotes and positive things,and we wrote supporting mental health on the back of the cards. We decided to deliver them to letter boxes around our school. When we were going to deliver the cards around our school mail boxes, we had parent helpers, we went into groups of 5 or 6, then Two or three groups went down the backtrack and And 3 groups went from the front of Waikowhai Primary School. Then we went across the road and started putting our cards into the mail boxes, some Kids kept on running and and putting the cards into the mailboxes. We were so busy that we didn't even notice that we posted a card in one of my friends mailbox. After we posted all our cards for other mailboxes, We went back to Waikowhai school, then Manukau went to the caravan with Harold the giraffe it was a puppet but it was so fun that all of us in Laughed and even they could also change the light in the Caravan truck. Then after the school bell rang and we went back home.

Swimming Sports

Yesterday we did swimming sports. It was a race, in the 1st race you have to swim on your front and then in the next race you have to swim on your back, the one were you swim on your back is called backstroke and when you swim on your front is called freestyle. There were a lot of parents and people assisting us in the pool even two or three of our teachers helping us. I came 3rd in the first round on the front Strokes by touch the end of the pool. In the second round we had to do backstroke till the end of the pool.I also came 3rd in the second race too. At the end we did a race between teachers and parents vs kids who were in Pukeko, Ruru, Tui and Kea. You know who won the teacher's because they're very fast swimming. Oh I was forgot to tell that we walked to Cameron pools and we walked back to school after walking down.

 

Special assembly

 Hi Bloggers We had a special assembly for the people who died in Christchurch. At the special assembly we sang the National Anthem to show respect. We also did the two minutes silence for the people who died at Christchurch and to respect them so we're saying that we are one. We also worked very hard to make card for the doctors, nurses, Police officers and firefighters. Then we put the cards underneath the kowhai tree we had planted at the shade house at school.
